Homework Policy

Dear Parents,

I believe homework is important because it is a valuable aid in helping students make the most of their experience in school.  Homework is useful in reinforcing what has been learned in class, prepares students for upcoming lessons, teaches responsibility and helps students develop positive study habits.

Your child will be receiving homework everyday, Monday through Thursday.  Each student has received a homework folder.  Every Monday they will receive a form to write down their homework.  I am asking you parents to check your child's work and if it is completed, sign in the space provided.

According to the South Whittier District guidelines third grade students should not have more than 60 minutes of homework each day.

I expect students to do their very best on their homework.  Homework must be neat and should be guided by an adult. If they are not turned in completed, the student will have to work on them during their recess time.

I feel that parents are the key to making homework a positive experience for their children.  Therefore, I ask that parents make homework a top priority.

I am looking forward to helping your child this year.  We can do this together!
