Mission & Goals
Mission:
It is the mission of McKibben Elementary to develop a learning community that strives toward high achievement for all.
Vision:
The McKibben staff envisions a school in which we:
- Monitor each student’s progress on a frequent and ongoing basis.
- Create a healthy and safe environment that fosters a lifelong love of learning.
- Work together, interdependently in collaborative teams, to ensure academic success.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to achieve a common purpose through the use of SMART goals and grade level standards.
Collective Commitments:
In order to achieve the shared vision for McKibben, we commit to the following agreements:
- We will implement Common Formative Assessments (CFAs) using the Essential Standards to monitor student learning.
- We will incorporate activities with students' interests in mind to have high levels of engagement.
- We will seek out and utilize a variety of instructional strategies to promote success for all students.
- We will be positive, contributing members of a collaborative team.
- We will implement Positive Behavioral Interventions Supports (PBIS) strategies and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons.
- We will develop, implement and evaluate SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound) goals that target specific instructional areas in need of improvement.
- We will be accountable for following through with the agreed upon tasks.
Goals:
- To improve student achievement in language arts in each grade level as measured by performance on local, district, and state assessments.
- To improve student achievement in mathematics in each grade level as measured by performance on local, district, and state assessments.
