Disipline Policy

Discipline Policy for Room Six
Dear Parents or Guardians:
I am looking forward to working with your child this year .In order to provide the best possible environment the children and I have agreed on a set of classroom rules, which include:
1 .Respect the rights of others
2. Respect the feelings of others
3. Respect the property of others
4 .Be good listeners
5. Raise your hand to talk and get out of your seat.
While I stress the positive aspects of behavior in the classroom and expect that all the children will adhere to the rules, if your child breaks the rules the consequences are:
1st consequence: a yellow card is showing
2nd consequence: a blue card is pulled; students will lose 5 minutes of free time
3rd consequence: a red card is pulled; student will lose 10 minutes of free time
4th consequence: a purple card is pulled, student will lose all free time and a call home or note will be sent home indicating what rules were broken
5th consequence: referral to the principal
Five purple cards in one trimester equals a referral to the principal.
Students who follow these rules will earn the following rewards for appropriate behavior:
1. Verbal praise
2. Free time on Friday
3. A note home reporting good behavior
4. Good citizenship credits
5. Their card may be turned back toward green
6. Special awards
7. Treasure chest prizes
When the class follows the rules, they will earn the following rewards for themselves:
1. Verbal praise
2. Row points
3. Special privileges
If you have any questions or wish to speak to me, I can be reached before or after school or by phone during the day. Phone (562)9449878, hours 7:45-8:10AM and 2:15-3:00PM. If these times are inconvenient for you, please leave a message and I will return your call as soon as possible. Thank you for sharing your child with me this school year. I look forward to a very productive year.
Mrs. Hambright
